Leadership Advancement Scholarship is a program that allows roughly 40 incoming students to develop their leadership skills with the cohort that all has similar interests. Applying is the first step, submitting the application and then waiting to hear back whether you get to make it to competition day. On this day, about 70 students partake in various leadership activities and a panel style interview to determine who will be apart of the cohort for that year. Once this process is done the individual to learn about the LAS protocol that each individual must partake in throughout the school year. this protocol includes the various leadership courses in the classroom and different leadership activities on campus and off-campus. Becoming a Leadership Advancement Scholar is a very high honor, it is a program like no other at any university in the nation. It allows a group of students to develop multiple skills and life long friendships over a four year plan.
